The Black Halo Holiday 2018 Collection Cocktail Party

Black Halo hosted a cocktail party to celebrate the release of the 2018 Holiday Collection at the Above Sixty rooftop lounge in Beverly Hills, California.  The night was ideal for a party under the starry Los Angeles night sky.  In the main lounge area, an open fire was burning and twinkling lights were hung for a cozy and intimate affair.    The lounge was decorated with Peonies, Black Halo Candles and gift boxes for all of the guests.
The 2018 Holiday Campaign Video played in the background while guests enjoyed two of the Black Halo Signature Cocktails, “Laurel Says” or the “Raspberry Halo.”  A gold sequin backdrop on the photo wall bumped up the fun, especially after a few cocktails were flowing!
Among the guests in attendance, many were wearing Black Halo.  Founder and Creative Director, Laurel Berman wore the Lazaro Jumpsuit (Pictured below).  Many of the guests that were in attendance wore Black Halo.  Brandi Laren Fowler (@brandilaren), an editor and contributor to InStyle Magazine wore the Ruby Dress in the Stretch Velvet fabric. Actress, Rebekah Graf (@rebekahgraf) wore the Lucy Dress in the Jelly Bean Sequin.  Blogger/Influencer, Aiko Cunanan (@aikocunanan) wore the Brooklyn Jumpsuit in the Bonfire color.

Editorial: Afternoon in the Prado

The Black Halo team recently took a trip south to Balboa Park in San Diego, California for an editorial shoot.  The park is an iconic presence in the city of San Diego.  Spanish Colonial architecture stretches throughout the park, which includes amphitheaters, museums, concert halls, and restaurants. The Prado restaurant has amazing food with beautiful courtyard and rose garden views.  The rose garden, located above the Japanese Friendship Garden, is always open to the public.  There are multiple paths to access the Prado’s courtyard and garden, you can take the main pathway and catch a glimpse of the Botanical Building or veer from the path and walk along the cobblestone retaining wall for a bird’s eye view of the Japanese Friendship Garden and unobstructed view of both Casa De Balboa and House of Hospitality.

A Curious Case of the Royals

It goes without saying that Royal Families have a profound effect on fashion and style. For example take the personal style of Grace Kelly and how pearls are always a staple accessory in her ensemble. Pearls are an elegant yet simple addition that can be coupled to many different types of outfits for varying occasions.

Here are some looks by Black Halo for different occasions that can be accessorized with pearls:

Jackie O Dress in Polka Dot Pebble Crepe

Emerson Playsuit in Super Loft Woven

Padma Gown in Neoprene

The next example of how Royals take a special podium in terms of fashion and style is Princess Diana. She is the current record holder of being the cover of People magazine (57 times!). Here are some favorite fashion moments according to InStyle magazine:

(1994) Princess Diana in a LBD that truly made a statement . Here she is attending a Serpentine Gallery benefit wearing this mini from designer Christina Stambolian.

(1995) Princess Diana in a white sheath dress by Versace in Italy.

There are many many more Royal fashion icons that can be covered here, but our latest craze is with Meghan Markle dawning our very own Jackie O Dress at a Women’s Empowerment reception in London. The soon to be royal paired our favorite LBD with a Gucci clutch and Aquazzura heels.

(2018) Meghan Markle in London at a reception for Women’s Empowerment event

However, the Jackie O Dress is no stranger to celebs in the prior years. The likes of Blake Lively, Kim Kardashian, Scarlett Johansson, Heather Graham, Tyra Banks,  and Bérénice Marlohe (Just to name a few) all wore our Jackie O Dress in different colors. Following the timeless fashion trends and styles of the Royals, Black Halo’s Jackie O Dress is truly a fine testament of enduring elegance that embodies glamour without pretense.

How to Style A Two-Piece Set

Two-piece sets are currently the trendiest ensemble that you can wear. Two-piece sets come in so many styles, colors, and the best part about a two-piece set is that you can mix and match to not only showcase your style, but really maximize your options in your closet.

Once you have found the perfect two-piece set, how exactly do you style it? Layers of jewelry? Heels? Sneakers? There are so many options! We have pulled some great examples of looks styled by Black Halo babes to help ease the stress of styling. For whatever look you are going for, or whatever style you have, this guide will help you to know exactly what to reach for when styling the perfect two-piece outfit.

Classic

Allegra Fanjul Garcia-Velez of @veryallegra on Instagram, captures a very classic daytime look when it comes to styling our Sanibel two-piece dress. She has elevated the two-piece set  with a large necklace, studded clutch, and lace-up heels. We really love that these are such fun pieces that really bring some depth to the outfit.

Flirty

We just can’t get enough of this look styled by Effie’s Inc! The model is wearing our Isabella two-piece jumpsuit with statement earrings, wavy blonde locks, black nail polish, and strappy sandals. We definitely recommend completing this look with a clutch  or long chain small bag and you are good-to-go Halo babe!

Bold

Jing of @jinglengstyle on Instagram goes for the bold in our Mayka two-piece set. She chose to pair it with gorgeous pops of red. The blazer makes the outfit feel very polished  and the strappy red heels keep the outfit playful. Try this styling technique and you are sure to be the “it” girl wherever you go.

Dressy

Scout And Molly’s of Columbia styled our Sanibel two-piece mini in “Black-Vanilla Orchid” to perfection. This is a great two-piece set because you can really dress it up (or even dress it down with some cute sneakers). They have chosen to pair it with black pumps, a glam bib necklace, and some chic studs. This look is sure to give you the elegant-glam look that will have everyone asking “where did you get your outfit!?”

Styling is certainly the icing on the outfit cake. We challenge you to be creative and fun when dressing up, dressing down, or mixing and matching your two-piece sets. If one thing is for sure, you can never go wrong with a trendy two-piece!
